the forsaken

My series “the forsaken” is an exploration of abandoned, historic ranches of the high desert. These old lonely ranches were originally built when the west was first settled. Several of the structures were built by the Clyde family. The Clydes were good friends with the Earp clan (including Wyatt) and both families worked together to hand build the ranches Since I last worked on this project, these old ranches have fallen on hard times, suffering a devastating fire, vandalism, and the last remaining owner occupant was gored to death by his own pet buffalo. I still find them transcendentally beautiful and a metaphor for the exquisiteness of solitude. I hope to capture the essence of these historic places before they are gone forever and no one realizes what has been lost. This collection has won multiple international awards and has been exhibited internationally.
